Below the line, there are still reasons to get help rather than to keep reading.
It is happening more than once or twice a week. You cannot clearly remember what you said. Work has raised it, or you have lost a job or a friendship over it. You are drinking or using something before it or after it.
It comes with low mood, poor sleep or hopelessness, in which case there is a good chance the anger is the visible edge of something else and the low mood is the thing to treat.
You are angry most of the day rather than in episodes, which points away from an anger problem and towards depression or a physical cause, and it needs a doctor.
And sudden onset anger that is not like you, particularly after a head injury or a change in medication, which goes to a doctor promptly rather than eventually.
