The pause, with a time on it
Here is the whole thing.
You notice your signal. You say out loud what you are doing and when you will be back, in one short sentence. I am going to walk round the block. I will be back in twenty minutes. Then you go, and you actually come back at twenty minutes.
While you are out, you walk. You do not compose the argument you should have made, and you do not run the scene again to work out who was right. That keeps the arousal up and the twenty minutes turns into an hour. Walk, look at things, let the body do what it is already doing.
The sentence and the time are not optional decoration. They are what stops this being something else.
