Naming the first thing

This is an information exercise and nothing more. You are not being asked to sit with anything or to feel it more deeply.

Afterwards, when it has passed, ask one question. What was the first thing, before the anger. Usually one of five words fits: afraid, humiliated, helpless, sad, or let down.

If nothing comes, leave it. It is not a test and there is no correct answer to find. When it does come, the effect is oddly practical. An anger that has been named as fear about money becomes a conversation about money. An anger that stays unnamed just becomes another Thursday.
