Isolation and low mood feed each other in both directions, and the withdrawal is usually gradual enough that nobody notices, including you.
Alcohol, and taking more of something than you were given, both belong here. They work in the evening and they hand it back to you in the morning with more attached. If either of these is part of your day, say so to a doctor rather than to nobody, because it changes what help is right for you.
Contact does not have to mean company. A ten minute call is contact. Sitting in the same room as someone is contact.
