A check

A thought about God arrives that you find horrifying. What does the instruction in this lesson actually ask of you?

Refute it thoroughly so it cannot come backSeek refuge and turn to something elseWork out why you had itRepeat the shahadah until the feeling passes
Not quite

Seek refuge and desist. It is deliberately short. Refuting it, working out where it came from, and repeating a formula until a feeling arrives are all ways of staying in the conversation, and staying in the conversation is what feeds it. Affirming your faith once, as the report says, is not the same as saying it forty times to make an anxiety stop.
