Why it never resolves

Answer it in your head first, then look.

You have worried about money most days for two years and you have neither made a plan nor become less afraid. On this lesson, why has neither of those two things happened?

Because worry is verbal and it deliberately never touches the real thing. No plan appears, because a plan needs actual figures and dates and the worry runs on estimates and dread instead. And the fear does not reduce, because the worry keeps you at a low hum rather than letting anything be faced or resolved. Meanwhile the catastrophe does not happen today, so the whole pattern looks like it is working. That is not a failure of effort on your part. It is what this particular behaviour does.
