Check the licensing before assuming you cannot afford a good instrument. Some come with permission to photocopy once you have bought the manual.
That detail matters most to the clinicians least likely to have a budget, which usually means the services seeing the families with fewest options. A fee for every administration quietly decides who gets assessed properly and who gets a conversation and a guess. Worth knowing what you already hold the right to use.
Qur’an and Sunnah
Let him whose provision is restricted spend according to what God has given him (Quran 65:7). Working within what you actually have is treated there as normal rather than as second best.
لِيُنفِقۡ ذُو سَعَةࣲ مِّن سَعَتِهِۦۖ وَمَن قُدِرَ عَلَيۡهِ رِزۡقُهُۥ فَلۡيُنفِقۡ مِمَّآ ءَاتَىٰهُ ٱللَّهُۚ لَا يُكَلِّفُ ٱللَّهُ نَفۡسًا إِلَّا مَآ ءَاتَىٰهَاۚ سَيَجۡعَلُ ٱللَّهُ بَعۡدَ عُسۡرࣲ يُسۡرࣰ ا
and let the wealthy man spend according to his wealth. But let him whose provision is restricted spend according to what God has given him: God does not burden any soul with more than He has given it- after hardship, God will bring ease

What the research says
A systematic review of why children and young people do not access professional help identified limited mental health knowledge, stigma and a preference for self-reliance, alongside practical problems of access. Money and availability sit in the same list as attitude. The review draws on young people's own accounts, so it describes barriers as they experience them rather than costing services out.

The diagnostic manual is a document people sat in rooms and argued over. That is no reason to dismiss it, and it is a good reason not to treat it as the last word on you.
Expect more anxiety, low mood, drinking and drug use in the young people coming through now. And expect the boys to say less about it, so go looking for irritability, trouble and substances instead of waiting to be told.
Eating that runs away from you, and eating you cannot stop once it has started, turn up alongside ADHD more than people expect. Usually it is doing a job rather than proving a weakness.
