Move earlier in the day if you can. Whatever it gives you is then available for the hours that follow, and the day has fewer chances to swallow it.
Evenings fill up with everything that got postponed, and the session is usually first to go. Morning does not have to mean dawn: before work, after the school run, whatever counts as early where you are. If your body is stiff and slow first thing, keep it gentle and let it be a walk.
Qur’an and Sunnah
The day for your livelihood (Quran 78:11). Daytime is named as the part made for exertion, and earlier in it is still daytime.

What the research says
The trials compared exercise against no treatment, or against therapy and medication, rather than morning against evening, so this timing advice is practical and not proven. What the Cochrane review of 39 trials does establish is that exercise beats no treatment by a moderate margin, with a much smaller difference against other treatments in the strongest trials. The session happening at all is the part with evidence behind it.

Why it works
Doing it before the day starts making demands means there are fewer things left that can displace it.
This one is still a draft. It is waiting on a scholar and a clinician to read it before it is published.

Being outside gives your attention something to rest on rather than something to hold. That is why an hour outdoors leaves you clearer than an hour lying on the sofa.
Teaching a child to fight works better when it comes with a plain rule: you defend, you never start it. The rule is doing as much work as the training.
End a session with a few minutes of sitting still. The styles that close with quiet seem to help most with the pause before reacting.
