Lead with what has evidence behind it. Save the thinly supported options for when the person brings them up themselves.
Mentioning something is a form of recommending it, whatever hedges you attach, and families will spend money and hope accordingly. If they raise it, that is different: talk it through properly, say what is known and not known, and help them weigh cost and time against what else that money could buy. Their choice, made with better information.
Qur’an and Sunnah
'do not chide the one who asks for help' (Quran 93:10). When someone brings you their own question, it deserves a real answer rather than a dismissal.

What the research says
A systematic review of sleep interventions for family caregivers found benefits across several approaches including relaxation and massage, while noting how few of the trials were well controlled. Encouraging findings on weak evidence are common, which is exactly the kind of thing not to lead with. That review is about caregivers and sleep rather than about how clinicians should talk about options.

Strength of evidence: one line of research. A single study, or a theoretical account.
Why it works
Anything a professional names carries their weight with it, so what you choose to mention is already advice.
This one is still a draft. It is waiting on a scholar and a clinician to read it before it is published.

One of the quiet gains from body practice is that you can feel more without having to do something about it straight away. The feeling arrives, you watch it, it passes.
There is a real difference between a practice you add to your treatment and one you use in place of it. Massage, breathing, acupressure and the rest belong in the first group.
In placebo studies, people improve even when they have been told outright that the pill is inert. They also usually spend half an hour talking with someone who is paying attention.
