Some people do not really perceive time passing. It is more like weather, something you are inside of, and then it is suddenly six o'clock.

If that is you, the useful word is perception rather than attitude. Being late is not a statement about what you value, though you have probably been told otherwise for years. Saying that plainly, to yourself and to the people around you, tends to lower the temperature enough that you can get on with putting props in place.

Qur’an and Sunnah

We made the night and the day as two signs (Quran 17:12). The markers are placed outside you, which is a kindness when your inner sense of them is unreliable.

We made the night and the day as two signs, then darkened the night and made the daylight for seeing, for you to seek your Lord’s bounty and to know how to count the years and calculate. We have explained everything in detail

What the research says

An experimental study linked the felt passage of time to interoception, the sense of your own bodily signals, proposing that some of what you experience as duration is built from the body rather than read off a clock. It is a single laboratory study offering a mechanism, and it is not about ADHD. It does make it less surprising that felt time and actual time come apart.

Strength of evidence: one line of research. A single study, or a theoretical account.

Why it works

You cannot manage something you are not perceiving, so naming the gap honestly comes before any technique.

This one is still a draft. It is waiting on a scholar and a clinician to read it before it is published.
