Sometimes both roads carry a cost and neither will feel good. Accept that first, then choose, rather than searching for the option that comes without a sting.
A lot of long deliberation is really a search for the version that leaves nobody upset and nothing lost. When that version does not exist, the search itself becomes the suffering, and you get the discomfort of both roads without the movement of either. Name what you are giving up on the side you pick, allow yourself to mind about it, and go anyway.
Qur’an and Sunnah
Seek help with steadfastness and prayer, though this is hard indeed for anyone but the humble (Quran 2:45). The hardness is stated plainly, so needing to steady yourself through it is expected rather than a fault.

What the research says
Across five experiments, keeping up positive beliefs about your own abilities and future was found to draw on self-regulatory resources in its own right. That fits the experience of hunting for a version you can feel good about being tiring in itself. It was laboratory work on positivity rather than research on hard life decisions, so treat it as a suggestive parallel.

Strength of evidence: one line of research. A single study, or a theoretical account.
Why it works
You cannot decide your way out of a choice where both options cost something.
This one is still a draft. It is waiting on a scholar and a clinician to read it before it is published.
Near this one
When something does not get written down, go back to that exact moment with curiosity rather than a telling off. What was in your hands, where were you, what did you tell yourself?
Finding out what is needed is progress, not more delay. Ringing to ask which documents they want is starting the job.
If you cannot say yes and cannot say no, look for the smaller version. Not the course, one module. Not every week, once a month.
