A better definition of resilience than never being knocked over: how quickly you come back once you have been.
It is kinder and it is more accurate. Nobody is judged on whether the alarm went off. What tells you something is whether you are still shaking two hours later or fifteen minutes later. If you want something to keep an eye on, watch the return rather than the absence of upset, and expect it to shorten over months rather than days.
Qur’an and Sunnah
'by the soul and how He formed it' (Quran 91:7). The way you are made includes the coming back, not only the being knocked over.

What the research says
A meta analysis combining heart rate variability with brain imaging found that the measure tracks activity in the brain networks that regulate emotion and threat, supporting its use as a physiological index of how well a person is regulating stress. There is real ground for treating regulation as something measurable. Whether any individual's recovery time maps neatly onto that index is a further step the analysis does not take.

Strength of evidence: one line of research. A single study, or a theoretical account.
Why it works
Recovery speed is trainable in a way that never being upset is not.
This one is still a draft. It is waiting on a scholar and a clinician to read it before it is published.

The goal is not to have less energy. It is to have a brake you can feather rather than slam.
Neurofeedback usually starts with an assessment, then a block of sessions, then a review, and it is mostly paid for privately. Ask about all of that before you begin.
Going limp is an old survival bet, not a failure of nerve. Some animals are alive only because they stopped moving.
