Lesson 1 of 6
A bereavement that gets no funeral
Somebody died, or somebody who was going to exist now will not, and the world carried on without pausing.
There was probably no funeral that anybody attended. No leave from work. No cards. Nobody said the name, because in many cases there was no name. Within a fortnight people stopped asking, and some of them never started.
That is a bereavement with the whole social machinery switched off. It is not a smaller grief. It is a grief that has been given nowhere to go, which is a different problem and it is the one this course is about.
