What he did when he was ill, and tie it and rely
Look at the practice rather than the argument. In his final illness he recited the last surahs and blew over himself, and passed his hands over his face, and Aisha did the same for him. When somebody in the household fell ill he blew over them reciting the same surahs.
Quiet, domestic, at home. That is what ruqyah looks like in the sunnah.
And for the person who fears that a doctor means a failure of tawakkul, there is a man who left his camel untied and said he was relying on Allah. Tie it, and rely upon Allah. Graded hasan in Tirmidhi. The tying is not the opposite of the reliance. The tying is what reliance looks like in a body with hands.

Anas bin Malik narrated that a man said:"O Messenger of Allah! Shall I tie it and rely(upon Allah), or leave it loose and rely(upon Allah)?" He said: "Tie it and rely(upon Allah)." Other chains report similar narrations

Narrated `Aisha:During the Prophet's fatal illness, he used to recite the Mu'auwidhat (Surat An-Nas and Surat Al- Falaq) and then blow his breath over his body. When his illness was aggravated, I used to recite those two Suras and blow my breath over him and make him rub his body with his own hand for its blessings."
