Look at when this happens. Not what kind of person it happens to, when.
Late. Tired. Alone. Bored in a way that has no shape to it. Awake past the point where anything good was going to happen anyway. After an argument. On the third evening in a row with nothing in it.
None of that is an excuse and none of it is a cause. It is the set of conditions, and conditions are the part you can change without needing an insight or a stronger character. Where the phone charges at night is a decision about furniture, not about faith.
