Even so, there are some who choose to worship others besides God as rivals to Him, loving them with the love due to God, but the believers have greater love for God. Go with this shirt of mine and cast it upon the face of my father so that he may come to seeing. Joseph said, " Take my shirt to Jacob, for his pain has not ceased from the time he saw the shirt stained with the wolf's blood. The balm will also be my shirt. " When they took the shirt from Egypt, the morning breeze was commanded to take the shirt's scent to Jacob's nostrils so that, before Joseph's messenger could give the good news, he would receive it from the Real's mes- senger and recognize the Real's perfect gentleness and favor toward him. According to the tasting of the recognizers, this is the divine breeze that wanders furtively around the world to the doors of the breasts of the faithful and the tawḤīd-voicers to see where there may be a limpid breast and an empty secret core in which to dwell. Among the people are some who take peers apart from God, loving them as if loving God. And those who have faith are more intense in love for God. If this were the only verse in the whole Qur'an about the faithful and God's friends, their eminence and honor would be complete, for the Lord of the Worlds is saying, “They love Me intensely and more completely than the unbelievers love their objects of worship.” Do you not see that every once in a while the unbelievers set up another idol and take up another object of worship. Like poor people, they are content with something carved of wood. Then, when they can, they take down the wooden one and make another from silver or gold. If their love for their object of wor- ship is real, why do they turn away from it toward another? They say that a man met a woman recognizer, and her beauty exercised its influence over his heart. Yet there be people who take to themselves compeers idols besides God that is other than God loving them by magnifying them and being subservient to them as God is loved that is as their love of Him; but those who believe love God more ardently than those who love their compeers because the former never reject God whereas the latter when faced with hardship soon abandon those compeers for God; If he if you O Muhammad (s) were to see those who did evil by taking to themselves compeers when idh here denotes idhā they see read either as active yarawna ‘they see’ or passive yurawna ‘they are made to see’ the chastisement you would see a grave sight that this is because the might the power and the vanquishing altogether a circumstantial qualifier belongs to God and that God is terrible in chastisement according to one reading the person listening to the verse governs the verb yarā ‘he sees’ a

A five-staged comprehensive search of the literature was conducted in Medline, Web of Science and SciVerse Scopus using keywords
Reducing the decline in physical activity during pregnancy: a systematic review of behaviour change interventions.: Purpose: Physical activity (PA) typically declines throughout pregnancy. Low levels of PA are associated with excessive weight gain and subsequently increase risk of pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes mellitus, hypertension disorders, delivery by caesarean section and stillbirth. Systematic reviews on PA during pregnancy have not explored the efficacy of behaviour change techniques or related theory in altering PA behaviour. This systematic review evaluated the content of PA interventions to re
Early determinants of physical activity in adolescence: prospective birth cohort study.
Objective: To examine the effects of early social, anthropometric, and behavioural variables on physical activity in adolescence. Design: Prospective birth cohort study. Setting: Pelotas, southern Brazil. Participants: 4453 adolescents aged 10-12 years participating in the Pelotas 1993 birth cohort study (follow-up rate 87.5%). Main outcome measures: Sedentary lifestyle (< 300 minutes of physical activity per week) and median physical activity score (minutes per week). Results: The prevalence of a sedentary lifestyle at age 10-12 years was 58.2% (95% confidence interval 56.7% to 59.7%). Risk factors for a sedentary lifestyle in adolescence were female sex, high family income at birth, high maternal education at birth, and low birth order. Weight gain variables at ages 0-1, 1-4, and 4-11 years and overweight at age 1 or 4 years were not significant predictors of physical activity. Levels …

Group cohesion and social support in exercise classes: results from a danish intervention study.
This study examines the formation of group cohesion and social support in exercise classes among former sedentary adults, participating in a Danish community-based intervention. Furthermore, the aim is to analyze the impact of this process on exercise activity among the participants. A multimethod approach was used, analyzing both survey data and 18 personal interviews collected among 87 participants who completed the intervention project. Analysis was performed according to the grounded theory method. The formation of group cohesion was conditioned by the social composition of the group, the teaching ability by the instructors, and the activity by itself. The cohesive group was characterized by an attitude of mutual support toward exercise activities. This mutual support facilitated development of self-efficacy beliefs among the participants improving their mastery expectation regarding…

Human needs in COVID-19 isolation.
To reduce the spread of COVID-19, the World Health Organization and the majority of governments have recommended that the entire human population should 'stay-at-home'. A significant proportion of the population live alone or are vulnerable to mental health problems yet, in the vast majority of cases, individuals in social isolation have no access to mental healthcare. The only resource is people themselves using self-help, self-medication and self-care. During prolonged COVID-19 isolation, an in-built system of homeostasis can help rebalance activity, thought and feeling. Increased physical activity enables a reset of physical and mental well-being. During periods of lockdown, it is recommended that exercise should be as vigorously promoted as social distancing itself.

Why the Neighborhood Social Environment Is Critical in Obesity Prevention.
The continuing obesity epidemic in the USA calls for the examination of antecedents to the well-known risk factors of physical activity and diet. The neighborhood built environment has been extensively studied in relation to obesity noting an increased risk of development and prevalence of obesity in relation to numerous built environment characteristics (lack of green spaces, higher number of fast food restaurants, low walkability indices). The neighborhood social environment, however, has been less extensively studied but is perhaps an equally important component of the neighborhood environment. The neighborhood social environment, particularly constructs of social capital, collective efficacy, and crime, is associated with obesity among both adults and children. Several studies have identified physical activity as a potential pathway of the neighborhood social environment and obesity …

Associations between adherence to 24-hour movement guidelines with depression, anxiety, and loneliness among Chinese adolescents.
Purpose: While growing evidence suggests a link between meeting 24-hour movement guidelines and adolescent mental health, further investigation is needed to clarify this association. This cross-sectional study aimed to examine how adherence to single and combined 24-hour movement guidelines relates to depression, anxiety, and loneliness in adolescents, while exploring variations across sex and age. Methods: A total of 15,344 adolescents aged 10-18 years in Shanghai were selected using multi-stage stratified cluster random sampling in 2021. Data on movement behavior and mental health problems were collected through self-reported questionnaires. Logistic regression was used to assess the associations and stratified analyses were performed for sex and age groups. The STROBE checklist for observational research was adopted for reporting. Results: Only 2.7 % of our sample of Chinese adolescen…

Physical activity pattern, cardiorespiratory fitness, and socioeconomic status in the SCAPIS pilot trial - A cross-sectional study.
Living in a low socioeconomic status (SES) area is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular events and all-cause mortality. Previous studies have suggested a socioeconomic gradient in daily physical activity (PA), but have mainly relied on self-reported data, and individual rather than residential area SES. This study aimed to investigate the relationships between residential area SES, PA pattern, compliance with PA-recommendations and fitness in a Swedish middle-aged population, using objective measurements. We included 948 individuals from the SCAPIS pilot study (Gothenburg, Sweden, 2012, stratified for SES, 49% women, median age: 58 years), in three low and three high SES districts. Accelerometer data were summarized into intensity-specific categories: sedentary (SED), low (LIPA), and medium-to-vigorous PA (MVPA). Fitness was estimated by submaximal ergometer testing. Parti…

Risk factors of adolescent psychological distress: A study based on latent class analysis.
Background: Adolescent psychological distress (PD) represents a critical global public health concern. This study identified latent classes of PD and examined associations with health behaviors and sociodemographic factors. Methods: Using latent class analysis on cross-sectional data from 24,711 adolescents in China (2019-2023), five distinct PD classes were derived. Logistic regression analyzed associations between PD classes and risk factors. Results: Five PD classes emerged: No PD, High PD, High Obsessive-Compulsive Low PD, High Internalizing PD, and High Externalizing PD. Screen time ≥ 2 h per day was a universal risk factor across all classes. High ultra-processed foods intake increased PD risk in No PD, High Internalizing PD, and High PD group. Counterintuitively, higher physical activity intensity exacerbated PD in High PD, High Obsessive-Compulsive Low PD, and No PD groups, while…

Mediating effects of healthy lifestyle factors on associations between mental health and functional outcomes in early adolescence.
Background: Although mental health and healthy lifestyle interventions are associated with functional outcomes in adolescence, the extent to which particular lifestyle factors explain relationships between mental health and outcome are unclear. Here we examined mediating effects of lifestyle factors on relationships between mental health and two functional outcomes measured 2-3 years later, as well as moderating effects of environmental risk factors on mediation strength in early adolescence. Method: We analyzed data from three waves of the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development Study (ages 10-11, 11-12, and 12-13 years). Mediating effects of sleep quality, screen time, physical activity, and Mediterranean diet on the relationships between depression, anxiety, psychotic-like experience (PLE) distress, and total problems with two subsequent functional outcomes (academic functioning and so…

Trajectories of psychotic-like experiences in youth and associations with lifestyle factors.
Background: Persistent and/or distressing psychotic-like experiences (PLEs) during adolescence are associated with poorer subsequent psychiatric outcomes. Modifiable lifestyle factors (such as sleep quality or regular exercise) may improve mental health outcomes; however, it is unknown how lifestyle factors are linked to trajectories of PLEs. Methods: Using data from the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development Study (N = 10,075, age 9-10 years at baseline), we characterized trajectories of PLEs using latent growth mixture models assessed using the Prodromal Questionnaire-Brief Child Version. We examined trajectories of Total and Distress scores. We used multinomial logistic regressions to examine associations between baseline lifestyle behaviors (including self-reported screen time, physical activity and caffeine intake, and parent-reported sleep disturbances and recreational activities) …

Associations of autonomous motivation and physical activity with mobile phone addiction and bedtime procrastination: a cross-sectional study.
Background: Excessive pre-sleep mobile phone use fuels bedtime procrastination and sleep insufficiency, contributing to a self-reinforcing cycle of dependency. While physical activity benefits sleep health, the reasons for sustained engagement and the role of motivation quality in downstream outcomes remain understudied. This study integrates self-determination theory, compensatory internet use theory, the self-regulatory failure model, and the dual-system model to examine how autonomous motivation operating through physical activity is associated with mobile phone addiction and bedtime procrastination. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 1,246 Chinese adults, including 389 university students (164 male, 225 female) and 857 working adults (524 male, 333 female), were recruited. The mean age of participants was 32.47 years (SD = 9.86). Validated scales were used to assess autonomous m…

The relationship among college students' mobile phone addiction, bedtime procrastination, and physical activity: a cross-lagged study.
Aim: In Chinese universities, mobile phone addiction (MPA) and bedtime procrastination (BP) are common and associated with adverse outcomes, whereas physical activity (PA) reliably benefits mental and physical health. Nevertheless, their longitudinal interplay remains underexplored. Accordingly, grounded in self-regulation theory, this longitudinal study examined the dynamic associations and potential causal pathways among MPA, BP, and PA in university students, in order to inform theory and guide future research. Methods: A total of 376 university students completed a valid questionnaire on problematic MPA, BP and PA at two points in time 3 months apart. A cross-lagged model was used to examine the longitudinal relationships between these factors. Results: Mobile phone addiction, BP, and PA exhibited complex temporal interrelations. Longitudinal path analyses indicated that: (1) mobile …

Shared Use to Promote Physical Activity and Healthy Eating in Rural South Carolina United Methodist Churches: Opportunities and Pastor Beliefs.
Access to facilities that could promote physical activity (PA) and healthy eating (HE) is limited in rural areas. Shared use agreements with churches may be a promising strategy for enhancing rural community access to facilities. The goals of this qualitative study were to (a) examine rural pastors' views on the role of faith-based organizations in improving PA and HE in rural communities; (b) describe the availability of church facilities that could be used for PA and HE; (c) understand pastors' opinions on shared use of church facilities for community health promotion. A purposeful sampling strategy was used to recruit pastors in rural South Carolina. Thirteen United Methodist Church (UMC) pastors (46% female; 54% predominantly African American congregations) participated in phone interviews. Interviews were transcribed and coded using grounded theory and analyzed with NVIVO. Most past…

Do physical activity and virtues predict school grades?
Many factors predict adolescents' school grades, two of which may be character strengths and physical activity. We investigated 339 adolescents (130 boys, 185 girls, two diverse, 22 missing data) between 10 and 21 years old (M = 14.92, SD = 2.28). They filled out questionnaires regarding their character strengths, extracurricular physical activity, math, language, and sports grades. The 24 character strengths were summarized into the virtues of wisdom, courage, humanity, justice, temperance, and transcendence. Math grades were positively predicted by the virtues of courage and temperance and negatively by age and justice. Girls and younger pupils reported better language grades. Sports grades were predicted by extracurricular physical activity and courage. Better sports grades were found in pupils who were members of a sports club and practiced their sports longer. In particular, courage…

The relationship between physical activity environment, mental wellbeing, flourishing and thriving: A mixed method study.
Research shows that mental wellbeing contributes to a greater quality of life and longevity, superior overall health, life success, and fulfillment. High mental wellbeing, such as flourishing and thriving, is associated with a sense of meaning and purpose, mastery and accomplishment, social connectedness, optimism, and contribution to society. Nature-based physical activity participation has been linked with mental wellbeing enhancement over and above the impact of physical activity alone. The present study sought to address a gap in the research by exploring whether the environment in which physical activity takes place and one's gender moderate the relationship between activity time and various indices of mental wellbeing. Using a mixed methods design, participants (N = 235) aged 18 to 76 (M = 33.41, SD = 13.41) completed an online survey. We divided participants into three groups base…

Feeding Practices Among Portuguese Parents of 5- to 10-Year-Olds: Psychometric Properties of the Comprehensive Feeding Practices Questionnaire.
Background: Parents, as primary caregivers, are responsible for most decisions related to children's lifestyle. One of the key elements in children's lifestyle is parents' feeding practices and given the relevance of these practices for children's weight and health-related outcomes, it is important to have valid and reliable measures available to address them in both research and practice. In the current study, we examined the psychometric properties of the Comprehensive Feeding Practices Questionnaire (CFPQ) in a sample of Portuguese parents of children aged 5-to-10. We evaluated the questionnaire's factor structure, criterion-related validity and test-retest reliability. Methods: Primary caregivers (N = 507) of children aged 5-to-10 completed the CFPQ and the Physical Activity Parenting Practices questionnaire, and a subset of the participants (n = 125) completed the CFPQ at a second a…

Mechanisms underlying the associations between different types of nature exposure and sleep duration: An 18-country analysis.
Whilst green space has been linked to healthier sleep outcomes, the roles of specific types of nature exposure, potential underlying mechanisms, and between-country variations in nature-sleep associations have received little attention. Drawing on cross-sectional survey data from an 18-country sample of adults (N = 16,077) the current study examined: 1) the relative associations between six different types of nature exposure (streetscape greenery, blue view from home, green space within 1 km, coast within 1 km, green space visits, blue space visits) and insufficient sleep (<6 h vs. 7-10 h per day); 2) whether these relationships were mediated by better mental wellbeing and/or physical activity; and 3) the consistency of these pathways among the different countries. After controlling for covariates, neighbourhood nature measures (green space, coast within 1 km) were not significantly asso…

Procrastination in the Intention-Behaviour gap: Exercise procrastination and the moderating role of emotion.
Health behaviour procrastination is closely associated with the intention-behaviour gap. However, research on health behaviour procrastination has tended to focus on bedtime procrastination, with relatively few studies on exercise procrastination. This research examined the relationship between exercise procrastination and the intention-behaviour gap through three studies. Additionally, based on the temporal-affective self-regulation resource model, the moderating role of emotion as a self-regulatory resource in exercise procrastination was explored. Study 1 validated the Chinese version of the newly developed Procrastination in Exercise Scale in two Chinese adult samples (N = 2376 and N = 393). Study 2 collected two waves of data from 447 Chinese adults (Mage = 31.19) and examined the mediating role of exercise procrastination in the intention-behaviour gap. Using a sample of 453 Chines…
