With gambling machines the pull may be the lights and the noise as much as the chance of winning. That changes what you actually need to stay away from.
If the sensory buzz is doing the work, the triggers are not only the betting shop. They are the phone games built with the same flashing and chiming, the arcade, the app that pays you in fireworks. And a replacement has to be something that genuinely stimulates, like loud music, hard exercise or something to do with your hands, rather than sitting quietly and hoping the urge passes.
Qur’an and Sunnah
You can ask those who have knowledge if you do not know (Quran 16:43). If something like this has hold of you, asking someone who works with it is a sane first move rather than a last resort.
[Prophet], all the messengers We sent before you were simply men to whom We had given the Revelation: you [people] can ask those who have knowledge if you do not know

What the research says
A systematic review of ADHD and procrastination shows how this evidence usually looks: the behaviour pattern is observed alongside ADHD again and again, while the review states plainly that the mechanisms remain unclear. The same caution belongs on any confident account of what makes a machine hard to walk away from. Take the practical part, which is to watch what actually pulls you, and hold the explanation loosely.

Strength of evidence: one line of research. A single study, or a theoretical account.
Why it works
You can only steer around a trigger you have correctly identified.
When not to
If gambling has started reaching your money, your work or your family, that needs specific help now and not just a plan for triggers.
This one is still a draft. It is waiting on a scholar and a clinician to read it before it is published.

Hypervigilance after trauma and ADHD scanning look much alike from outside. Often the honest answer is that both are present, and the real question is how much of each.
Autism and ADHD share some surface features and are still two different things. The social difficulty in each arrives by a different road.
Most autistic people also meet the criteria for ADHD. The other direction is much thinner: only a small minority of people with ADHD meet the criteria for autism.
