If work keeps going wrong in the same way, ask for the expectations in writing before the next thing goes wrong. What is obvious to a manager is often not obvious to you, and a written version can be checked.
It might be a list of what counts as done, agreed deadlines, or the safety rules that are not negotiable. Adjustments are worth asking for too: written instructions rather than spoken ones, a quieter spot, shorter check-ins more often. Frame the ask around what will help the work rather than around what is wrong with you, and if you are supporting someone, help them find that wording.
Qur’an and Sunnah
God wishes to lighten your burden (Quran 4:28). Asking for something that lightens the load sits inside that, rather than counting as a failure of effort.
يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ أَن يُخَفِّفَ عَنكُمۡۚ وَخُلِقَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ ضَعِيفࣰ ا
God wishes to lighten your burden; man was created weak

What the research says
A quality of life measure for adults with ADHD was developed on the premise that symptom counts alone miss what impairment actually means in daily life. Work is where a great deal of that missed impairment sits. It is a measure validation study, so it supports taking daily functioning seriously rather than recommending any particular adjustment.

Strength of evidence: one line of research. A single study, or a theoretical account.
Why it works
Written expectations replace remembering with reading, and remembering is the unreliable part.
This one is still a draft. It is waiting on a scholar and a clinician to read it before it is published.
Near this one
If a young person says they do not feel ready to drive, take that as information rather than something to talk them out of. Plenty of them know their own attention better than the adults around them do.
If sport or a club is the reason a struggling student still turns up, do not let it be the first thing taken away when grades slip. Removing it usually removes what was holding the rest together.
Driving is one long attention task with a very high cost of failure, so it is worth deliberately giving yourself more margin than you think you need.
