If a young driver in your house takes medication, the dose and the car keys belong together. Driving is the everyday task where one lost second costs the most.
The gap tends to open at weekends and in the holidays, when the dose gets skipped because there is no school and then someone drives anyway. Make it a plain family rule while things are calm rather than an argument on a Saturday morning. It holds far better if it applies to every adult in the house who takes anything that affects alertness.

Qur’an and Sunnah
'when they entered as their father had told them, it did not help them against the will of God' (Quran 12:68). The precaution was still worth taking, which is how to hold a rule that lowers risk without promising anything.
وَلَمَّا دَخَلُواْ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ أَمَرَهُمۡ أَبُوهُم مَّا كَانَ يُغۡنِي عَنۡهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ مِن شَيۡءٍ إِلَّا حَاجَةࣰ فِي نَفۡسِ يَعۡقُوبَ قَضَىٰهَاۚ وَإِنَّهُۥ لَذُو عِلۡمࣲ لِّمَا عَلَّمۡنَٰهُ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ

What the research says
A review of large studies linking prescription records with other national registers associates ADHD medication with fewer injuries and accidents. Those studies are not randomised, so treated and untreated people may differ in ways that are hard to adjust for fully, and the authors flag that clearly. Even read cautiously it points the same way as the practical advice.

The same loss of appetite means very different things in different children. A slight child who was already struggling to gain weight may need a different formulation or a different medicine altogether.

An immediate release dose gives you the whole thing at once: quick to start, strong at the top, gone within a few hours. If that is what you take, put the demanding things inside the hours it actually covers.
