A scheduled break does not break concentration. It is the unplanned wandering off that does that, and a known break tends to replace it.

Teachers usually expect movement breaks to shatter the lesson and find the opposite: children come back more easily because the break is part of the shape of the hour. A break someone can predict is not an interruption, it is a landmark. The same holds at home with homework, and at work with your own afternoon.

Qur’an and Sunnah

When the prayer has ended, disperse in the land (Quran 62:10). The turn into activity comes at a set point, which is what makes it orderly rather than disruptive.

then when the prayer has ended, disperse in the land and seek out God’s bounty. Remember God often so that you may prosper

What the research says

In children and adolescents, more physical activity has been associated with better mental health and more sedentary time with worse, across a large systematic review. The evidence there is largely observational and does not test lesson structure. It supports building movement into the day, and leaves the timetabling to you.

Strength of evidence: one line of research. A single study, or a theoretical account.

Why it works

A break you can count on removes the need to escape at random moments.

This one is still a draft. It is waiting on a scholar and a clinician to read it before it is published.
