Dyspraxia and developmental coordination disorder are the same thing carrying different passports. Search only the American term and you will miss a large European literature on assessing and helping these children.
Search both, and try the older names while you are there. It matters most when you are looking for what actually helps, since much of the intervention work has been done in Europe under the other word. Worth telling parents too, who otherwise find two sets of results and assume their child has two separate problems.

'We have knowledge only of what You have taught us' (Quran 2:32). The angels say clearly where their knowledge ends, which is a good habit when your search terms are the edge of what you can see.

What the research says
What a condition is called shapes how much of it gets found. A clinical review of autism notes that recorded prevalence has risen substantially, driven in large part by wider recognition and changed diagnostic practice rather than by any change in people. That is about autism rather than coordination difficulty, and it makes the general point plainly: definitions and labels change what turns up in the record.

The checklists were built around the loud version of this, and girls are more often the quiet version. If she is struggling and nobody has ever suggested an assessment, that is worth pressing on.
Ask what they think this will cost them in effort, then say what you think. People rarely give up because a strategy failed. They give up because it turned out to be harder than anyone had told them.
