On the heaviest day, trust you are not given more than you can carry, and do just the next small thing.

You do not have to carry the whole weight at once. One small act, then the next, is enough.

Qur’an and Sunnah

God does not burden any soul with more than it can bear (Quran 2:286). Whatever is on you today, you were built to carry it.

God does not burden any soul with more than it can bear: each gains whatever good it has done, and suffers its bad- ‘ Lord, do not take us to task if we forget or make mistakes. Lord, do not burden us as You burdened those before us. Lord, do not burden us with more than we have strength to bear. Pardon us, forgive us, and have mercy on us. You are our Protector, so help us against the disbelievers.’

What the research says

People carry far more than they believe they can, especially in small steps. Doing the next small thing, rather than facing everything at once, is how the load stays bearable.

Bonanno, G. A. (2004). Loss, trauma, and human resilience: Have we underestimated the human capacity to thrive after extremely aversive events?. American Psychologist doi

Resilience is the most common outcome after loss; open grief and steady recovery routinely coexist.

Strength of evidence: one line of research. A single study, or a theoretical account.

Why it works

Taking loss one manageable step at a time keeps it within what you can actually bear.

Where this sits: Dual Process Model, restoration orientation.
