Areas › Focus, starting, and ADHD › What ADHD actually is
When you explain ADHD to someone who does not have it, describe the effort rather than the outcome. Not that the form is unfinished, but what twenty minutes of trying to fill it in actually took out of you.
Most people around you are judging the visible result, because that is all they can see. One concrete picture of the inside of an ordinary task usually lands better than the word ADHD does: what kept pulling you away, how many times you started again, what it cost to hold the thread. Pick one small example rather than trying to make the whole case at once.
Qur’an and Sunnah
We know what his soul whispers to him: We are closer to him than his jugular vein (Quran 50:16). The part of this that nobody around you can see is already fully known.
We created man––We know what his soul whispers to him: We are closer to him than his jugular vein––

What the research says
Researchers built a quality of life measure specifically for adults with ADHD on the premise that symptom checklists miss what the condition does to daily life. That premise is the useful part here: what you carry is not captured by a count of symptoms. It is a measure validation study, so it tells you how impairment can be captured rather than how to explain yourself to a colleague.

Strength of evidence: one line of research. A single study, or a theoretical account.
Why it works
People adjust their judgement when they can picture the work behind a result, not just the result.
This one is still a draft. It is waiting on a scholar and a clinician to read it before it is published.
Near this one
Write out your real work history, every job, with why each one ended. In conversation people skip the short ones and the sackings, and that is precisely where the pattern lives.
If things fell apart when your routine did, that is information rather than a character flaw. A great deal of what was holding you together was built into the day around you.
Keep two or three trustworthy places to read about ADHD and go there first. Confident, tidy explanations online are easy to find, and most of them have nobody checking them.
